About usThe National Training Federation is a Wales wide representative body for all those organisations or individuals involved in the training industry. Membership allows access to a range of organisations for mutual co-operation in a range of options both to achieve business by joint tender/quotation and also to service members' needs.
The Federation members currently have close working links with a very large number of contacts with employers across a wide range of disciplines, and also with awarding bodies to offer accredited learning to Degree levels and above. Current membership is composed of a wide range of organisations, Universities, Colleges of F.E., Local Authorities, Private Trainers, The Voluntary Sector and others. The Federation maintains close working links with the Welsh Assembly Government at Ministerial level, the Department of Lifelong Learning and Skills, Careers Wales, Jobcentre Plus, CBI plus Members of Parliament, Welsh Assembly Members, Sector Skills Councils etc. The Federation disseminates information through its Website together with organisation of Annual Conferences, regional and local seminars to address pertinent issues. Many members are providers in their own right of projects funded by the European Union. The Federation itself will bid for projects using its members in relation to their skill base and expertise to suit the occasion. Members can share good practice and physical resources, premises and the like. Membership of the Federation brings not only work related benefits but the opportunity to meet with and respond to industry colleagues in a social setting that is conducive to networking. Marketing is an area that can be costly therefore collaboration can be extremely beneficial to all members. Quality of training is increasingly important as are the qualifications that will be required. The close links forged both at UK level and Welsh level with LLUK the Sector Skills Council for all direct trainers and tutors is vital as new qualifications/licensing are considered. The benefits of membership of NTFW thus far are vast and more and more organisations are taking up opportunities it provides. The NTFW is represented on a host of National and Regional Committees as follows:
All meetings are held monthly, The President, Chair and Treasurer are elected at the AGM. All other members are nominated at Regional Meetings. This model ensures a democratic organisation close to its membership with a clear communications pathway.
