Access Keys - using the website with your keyboard

A number of access keys have been specified to help users navigate around the site quickly with their keyboards. Please see below for details of how to use the access keys.

To navigate the website using access keys on a Windows system:

Press and hold down the ALT key. While holding down the ALT key, press the required access key (shown below). Release both keys, and then press the ENTER/RETURN key.

To navigate the website using access keys on a Mac system:

Press and hold down the CTRL key. While holding down the CTRL key, press the required access key (shown below). Release both keys, and then press the ENTER/RETURN key.

A description of accessibility issues addressed by the site

Interactive events such as clicking on links etc are not restricted to the use of a mouse only in order to work.

All pictures used on the site are given a description so that they can be described by a speech browser.

All major navigation links used on the site are given an alternate description.

Colour used on the site is purely to enhance the overall look of pages, and the site will function equally well in black and white.

Font sizes have been specified in relative units to allow the user to increase the font size at will using his or her browser settings.

There is a clear and consistent navigation structure used on the site, as well as a clear and consistent presentation of all pages.

The site has been designed to HTML 4.01 Transitional standards. Please click the icon below to verify this.

The site also offers a choice of two colour schemes, a black text on primarily white background scheme, and a high contrast larger yellow font on a primarily black background. You can use the links at the top of the page to switch between these schemes quickly and easily.
