Adult Learners’ Week is an annual festival coordinated by Learning and Work Institute (L&W) in partnership with Welsh Government and other partners.

19 – 25 September 2022
Adult Learners’ Week plays a major role in promoting a variety of opportunities for individuals, families, and communities to learn new skills, to support health and wellbeing, start new hobbies or to seek new opportunities to retrain and make a fresh start.

The opportunity to access adult education and to start again is at the heart of Welsh Government’s vision of making Wales a nation of second chances. Adult Learners’ Week will be a catalyst for people to take the next step that will allow them to lead healthier and prosperous lives.

The Adult Learners’ Week platform has been designed to host information, courses, events, and resources to connect people to provision, partners, and stakeholders across Wales and beyond. Last year, L&W hosted over 500 listings from a wide range of organisations including The Open University in Wales, Big Ideas Wales, Football Association of Wales, UNISON, BT, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Adult Community Learning providers, Wales Council for Deaf People, Wales TUC and others.

This year’s Adult Learners’ Week campaign will see a mix of online, live and in-person events and courses, taster sessions, open days, and outreach events, that will be promoted to people across Wales throughout September. Click here to see the events already accessible on the platform.

Make lifelong learning more accessible and visible to as many adults as possible.
Be part of the campaign – your involvement will help to raise the impact and profile of adult learning and help to empower people through lifelong learning opportunities. Use the platform to organise and promote your courses, open days, taster events, learning resources and advice and guidance.

Join the activity on social media by using #changeyourstory and #adultlearnersweek hashtags and follow and tag L&W Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. Use the month to showcase adult learning stories and celebrate all that learning has to offer.

Providers who are new to the campaign should complete the Adult Learners’ Week proforma. Registered providers are able to log in to their account here.

If you have any questions about your account or would like to discuss opportunities for cross-promotional activity contact Nisha Patel, Learning and Work Institute at alwevents@learningandwork.org.uk.
