We invite you to join us for a series of interactive discussions to share experiences and discuss sustainable solutions to achieve a diverse and inclusive apprenticeships programme where all barriers are removed.

Our five-year Work-based Learning Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy (2021-26) was co-produced with external stakeholders working with underrepresented groups in apprenticeships. We want continued dialogue with interested individuals and groups to address any barriers that impact our vision of achieving an inclusive apprenticeships model.

Through our case studies, we are pleased to show that there is good practice in supporting apprentices to achieve their frameworks. Apprenticeships data tells us that Construction, Engineering, Business Administration, Public Sector and Healthcare are the main sectors that drive our apprenticeships starts. However, there is a gender imbalance across these sectors. Whereas ethnicity and disability numbers are improving, we recognise that our data reflects an accurate picture of participation from our targeted groups and are committed to understanding how we can improve this situation.

The events aim to bring together employers, apprenticeships providers, apprentices and third sector organisations to identify good practices and solutions to improve gender balance in the sectors above and continue participation from disabled people and individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds.
