The Education Workforce Council (EWC) has recently completed its renewals process for 2024-25. Education practitioners must be registered with the EWC in order to work in Wales, and employers have a legal responsibility to ensure their staff are registered before they begin working. Apply to register now.

To support registrants and employers understand the legal requirements on them, the EWC offers free training sessions, in person or online, on a range of topics including the Code of Professional Conduct and Practice. They also offer sessions on the guidance, resources, and support services provided by the EWC to help practitioners avoid their registration being called into question.

Where there are concerns a registrant does not meet the standards expected of them, the EWC investigates through its fitness to practise (FtP) process. The EWC are always looking for individuals to join their FtP panels and it’s important that all registration groups are represented. If you are interested in this excellent professional development opportunity, email the FtP Team: fitnesstopractise@ewc.wales.
