Digital skills are no longer optional—they’re essential for growth.

In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, digital skills are critical for organisational success. Whether you’re a small business in rural Gwynedd or a large employer in Deeside or Wrexham, the ability to adapt and thrive in the digital economy is essential.

That’s why the North Wales Regional Skills Partnership (NWRSP) has developed the Digital Skills Toolkit — a practical, regionally focused resource to help employers navigate the evolving digital landscape. It offers insights, training pathways, and tools to help you build a digitally skilled workforce that’s ready for the future.

Why Digital Skills Matter

Digital skills are no longer optional—they’re a key driver of:

  • Productivity: Streamlining operations through automation and digital tools
  • Innovation: Enabling new products, services, and ways of working
  • Resilience: Adapting to change and staying competitive in a digital-first economy

Across North Wales, we’re seeing digital transformation in every sector — from advanced manufacturing and construction to health and social care, creative industries, and food and farming.

What’s Inside the Toolkit?

The toolkit will help employers in North Wales to:

  • Understand digital skill levels
  • Find opportunities for skill development
  • Utilise available digital apprenticeship pathways
  • Build a digitally skilled workforce

Regional Collaboration

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the employers across North Wales—representing a wide range of sectors and digital skill levels—whose valuable input helped shape this toolkit.

Their contributions, alongside the ongoing collaboration within the Digital Skills Employer Cluster Group and the ‘Digital Dozen’, have been instrumental in identifying regional priorities and actions.

Reflecting on this collective effort, the Chair of the Cluster Group shared the following:
“The NWRSP is committed to supporting employers across North Wales in building a digitally confident workforce. This toolkit is part of that commitment—designed with input from employers, aligned with regional priorities, and focused on real-world impact.” Pryderi ap Rhisiart | Managing Director | M-SParc.
