Rathbone Wales are pleased to announce a partnership with SA Brains Brewery. Nine learners at Rathbone Training Wales are currently completing an eight week work experience programme designed to boost their employability skills and give them hands on work experience. The programme consists of one week in the kitchen academy training facility, followed by shifts in an SA Brains public house three or four days a week and one day at the kitchen training academy.

During the training week, learners are given the opportunity to learn knife work and hygiene skills, as well as how to make a soup from scratch and to put together a curry. These sessions will then prepare them for the shifts in the pub in weeks two to eight. However, they will have the opportunity to continue learning at the Kitchen Training Academy one day each week.

The kitchen skills manager from SA Brains, Nathan Evans, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering again with Rathbone to run our Kitchen Skills Academy and it’s great to see our trainees getting stuck straight into learning and showing some real potential. We are looking forward to another successful Academy program and offering some deserved, hardworking individuals an opportunity of employment.”

Rathbone Training and SA Brains are delighted to announce that at the end of the programme, all the learners are guaranteed an interview at the pub where they completed work experience.
