Skills Competition Wales Announces Host Venues for the #SCW25 Competitions

Skills Competition Wales has announced the venues that will host its highly anticipated 2025 competitions, bringing a series of competitions to training centres and colleges across the country.

Taking a lead role in supporting the initiative, Cambrian Training will be delivering a series of competitions at the ICC Wales. Additional Further Education providers opening their doors to students, apprentices and trainees from across Wales. Each venue will host specific skills competitions, tailoring environments and equipment to match the needs of each category.

Skills Competition Wales, which celebrates vocational skills and supports young people in developing their career potential, will hold competitions in a wide range of industries, from engineering and construction to health and beauty.

The chosen venues span Wales, giving participants from across Wales the opportunity to compete in a prestigious event close to home.

Skills Competition Wales, funded by the Welsh Government, is part of a broader push to celebrate and develop vocational excellence among young people, enhancing their employability and inspiring them to pursue careers in critical industries. Competitors will showcase their talents in fields like carpentry, automotive engineering, hairdressing, and digital media, as well as newer areas like cybersecurity and renewable energy.

The competitions are expected to draw hundreds of students, apprentices, and trainees from across Wales. Top performers will have the chance to progress to UK and international stages, including WorldSkills – often known as the “Skills Olympics.”

By distributing events across Wales, Skills Competition Wales aims to make vocational training and skills development more accessible. Each venue will serve as a showcase not only for individual skills but also for the facilities and training available in their respective areas.

With venues now confirmed, preparations are underway to welcome competitors, mentors, and spectators to each location.
