Jo Creeden, Regulation and Qualification Manager is the winner of the Outstanding Contribution of the Year Award at the national FAB 2018 Awards.
Jo is described by colleagues as “the glue which holds us together” and as “pivotal and central to the organisation”. Over the years she has totally reconfigured all the processes for regulatory compliance, trained the other new managers, supported 250-plus centres offering the body’s accreditation while protecting the integrity of over 400 qualifications. She has also played a prominent role in the external regulatory working group in Wales.

Jo said: “I am overjoyed and privileged to win this award. I am fortunate to work with a team who share a strong commitment to learners and centres across Wales and who are open to new ideas and new ways of working to demonstrate best practice.
“While I thrive on new challenges and cultivating new ideas; it is imperative to acknowledge that it takes a team to take new ideas through to fruition. I consider this recognition to be shared with the awesome team who have taken onboard new ideas and approaches and worked alongside me to make the magic happen!”.
Agored Cymru was also shortlisted for two other categories, Collaboration of the Year and Innovation of the Year.
Now in its fourth year, the FAB Awards recognises the contributions made by awarding organisations and their employees to education and skills in the UK over the past year.
