Regarding his students competing in Skills Competition Wales, Iwan Roberts, Engineering Lecturer at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai said:

“We’ve noticed that the number of interviews our learners have picked up purely on the fact that our students have Skills Competition Wales on their CV have increased. Even if the students don’t use their particular technical skills after the competition, I know the experience has a massive impact on them and their soft skills. It helps with looking for jobs as it shows that they are looking to work to the highest of standards.”

Competitors are now encouraged to take the next step and register for SkillBuild UK wide Construction Trade competitions and WorldSkills UK.

SkillBuild registrations are open now until the 1 April 2024: https://www.goconstruct.org/skillbuild/
