Join Learning and Work Institute’s Adult Learners’ Week campaign partnership this September
Adult Learners’ Week 2023: 18 – 24 September with promotional activity throughout the month.
The annual campaign is coordinated by Learning and Work Institute (L&W) in partnership with the Welsh Government, which aims to connect people to a wide range of learning opportunities, to demonstrate the benefits of adult learning, and to celebrate the achievements of people, projects and organisations in Wales championing and participating in a wide range of learning and skills.
The opportunity to access adult education and to start again is at the heart of Welsh Government’s vision of making Wales a nation of second chances, as set out in the speech by Jeremy Miles, Minister for Education and Welsh Language.
Adult Learners’ Week encourages as many people as possible to embrace a second chance at education and employment and to experience the powerful benefits of adult learning. Each year the campaign inspires thousands of people to seek advice and guidance on the opportunities available to them to upskill, to improve their confidence and wellbeing, to flourish in their careers and develop a love for learning throughout life.
To make this a success, L&W work with a range of partners across multiple sectors to plan and deliver a variety of online and in-person taster sessions, short courses, open days, information and advice, and special events to celebrate the best of adult learning.
The Adult Learners’ Week platform has been designed to host learning content and to connect people to provision, partners, and stakeholders across Wales and beyond. Last year, the platform hosted over 500 listings from a wide range of organisations including, The Open University in Wales, UNISON, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Adult Community Learning providers, Wales TUC, OASIS, RNIB Cymru, and others.
Work with L&W to make lifelong learning more accessible and visible to as many adults across Wales.
Become a campaign partner – your involvement will help to raise the impact and profile of adult learning in Wales and help to empower people through lifelong learning opportunities.
