At the end of January, The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership (RSP) launched the North Wales Skills Portal, a new online platform designed to be the gateway to opportunities in North Wales. The Portal aims to connect job seekers and employers to local skills development and employment opportunities, along with training and support available for providers.

What’s Inside the North Wales Skills Portal?

  • Live Job Vacancies: Find the job and apprenticeship openings in the region and apply today!
  • Training Opportunities: Boost your skills and discover a variety of training programmes and connect with providers.
  • Career Pathways: Discover different career options and the skills needed for North Wales’s growth sectors.
  • Business Support: Employers can access resources to develop their workforce and expand their networks.
  • Local Events and Resources: Check out local events, employability resources, and guidance to make the most of opportunities.

Since its launch, over 2,000 visitors have already explored the portal, finding valuable information and opportunities. We encourage training providers to share their events and success stories with us to help promote them via the portal.

The portal was created with input from local employers and industry experts, ensuring it meets the specific needs of North Wales. Key stakeholders, including regional colleges, universities, independent training providers, Careers Wales, and other employability providers, played a crucial role in its development.

As one of four partnerships across Wales, the North Wales RSP brings together employers, skills providers, and key stakeholders to better understand and address local and regional employer needs. We invite job seekers, individuals, and employers in North Wales to dive into the portal and find their next opportunity.

The North Wales Skills Portal was made possible with £75,000 in funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Celebrating Apprenticeship Week
The RSP supported the Wales Apprenticeship Week campaign, showcasing the benefits and opportunities within apprenticeships across our RSP and Portal social media pages. We shared key content, including an overview of what an apprenticeship is, myth-busting perceptions, and success stories of individuals completing apprenticeships. The campaign reached over 1,800 unique individuals across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

Alongside the launch of the Portal, we have engaged with young people across Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, and Denbighshire. These sessions focused on the nine priority sectors and cross-sector transferrable skills.

Activities helped individuals identify their skills to potential employers and included a hands-on exploration of the North Wales Skills Portal to discover more about apprenticeship pathways and vacancies in the region.
We’re continuously gathering feedback from these sessions to refine and improve the portal, ensuring it meets the needs of both job seekers and employers in North Wales.

Upcoming Feature: Employer Showcase
We’re thrilled to announce the development of our next feature, the Employer Showcase. This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to attract potential employees, promote their organisations, and help individuals make informed decisions about their next career steps. Stay tuned for more updates!
