Since we last published the Employment and Skills Plan back in 2019 there has been a huge change in the way people work; the types of jobs on offer and more importantly perhaps the skills now required by industry to drive forward their businesses in a post pandemic world.

Throughout the summer the RLSP has been working on a new-look Employment and Skills Plan, the fundamental goal of the plan is to identify employment and skills priorities over the short, medium and long-term to develop the social and economic potential of the regional economy.

Over the last few months we have brought together local employers, skills providers and other stakeholders to help develop the plan, we have also been in consultation with hundreds of businesses from across the region not only through our online skills survey but through our Industry sector cluster groups and numerous jobs fairs.

The Employment and Skills Plan will be submitted to Welsh Government at the beginning of October and a Launch event is planned for November – so keep an eye out for your invitation.
