On the 18 May the Coleg Cymraeg held their first national face-to-face conference for the further education, higher education and apprenticeship sectors at the Cornerstone in Cardiff.

To those of you who attended, thank you very much and we hope you enjoyed the day.

During the day, we heard from the Welsh Language Commissioner, Efa Gruffudd Jones and a range of leading experts and academics.

The themes of the day included behaviour changing techniques, transitions between sectors, language planning and we also had the opportunity to share new resources with the sectors.

In the session tailored to the apprenticeship sector, Mary Richards introduced Y Porth Adnoddau. This is the Coleg’s online library for Welsh and bilingual digital teaching resources.

Sgiliaith introduced their Further Education Tutor Support Pack resource.

This resource has been created to support tutors to develop their bilingual teaching skills and increase their awareness of the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR) and the LA26 dataset. This package can also be adapted to apply to the apprenticeship sector.

The conference provided an opportunity to network and provide opportunities for cross sectoral and interactive discussion and learning.
