
Strategic Overview
Representing our members, we will constantly strive to influence the future of Work Based Learning for the good of the Welsh economy.
Shaping and Influencing:
- Ensuring that all key stakeholders and decision makers, within Education, Training & Skills understand the value and benefits of a quality assured training network and the positive effect it has on skills development within the Welsh Economy
- Working with the Welsh Government to develop appropriate Education, Training & Skills programmes that are relevant to learners, employers and the Welsh economy regionally and nationally
- Responding quickly and accurately to consultations to aid and influence the Education, Training & Skills agenda
Representing employment and skills in Wales:
- Ensuring effective feedback of Federation activities and outcomes to members and stakeholders
- Encouraging the sharing of best practices within the Education, Training & Skills network to benefit learners, employers & members
- Encouraging staff at all levels of seniority within members organisations to fully engage and participate in the NTfW network
- Ensuring that NTfW representatives effectively share feedback with the network
Raising the profile of work based learning in Wales:
- Promoting and encouraging the achievement of world class Skills through Apprenticeship Awards, Apprenticeship Week and World Skills events
- Publicising and promoting success through the media and ensuring positive representation of the work based Education, Training & Skills at key events
- Increasing participation in the annual NTfW Conference
- Maintaining and expanding current NTfW membership level
Engaging employer organisations with workforce development
Ensuring that the NTfW is in regular dialogue with:
- Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)
- Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Wales
- Institute of Directors (IOD)
- Regional Skills Partnerships
- Local Service Boards
